Lego has issued all the delegates at Cop26 a handbook by children on how to tackle climate crisis.Lego is touting it as its most ambitious build to date, but rather than many pages of instructions, the toymaker’s latest handbook offers only 10 steps. The booklet is not for a physical model, however. Instead it offers “building instructions for a better world” ahead of the crucial Cop26 climate talks that start in Glasgow this Sunday. The “10 requests” of policymakers are based on research and workshops conducted with more than 6,000 children aged eight to 18 from around the world. Read more here

Interfaith Scotland and Interfaith Glasgow, with the Scottish Religious Leaders Forum, conducted a vigil on the eve of the Climate Change Conference in the shared hope that COP26 will commit leaders to the actions necessary to save our common home, Planet Earth! Thousands of activists arrived in Scotland’s largest city to make their climate change concerns known. They included Greta Thunberg who was mobbed as she arrived by train in Glasgow. The Swedish activist was surrounded by police, media and activists at the city’s Central Station. Earlier, faith groups making pilgrimages to Glasgow converged in the city as protests build ahead of COP26 which starts on Sunday. Many had walked thousands of miles to join in a procession through the city centre. The event was an “opening ceremony” to a series of non-violent protests planned in Glasgow, and around the world, during the United Nations convention. Read more here.

The UNFCCC issued a Message to Parties – Ticketing suspension – explaining that the ticketing system for the Conference had been under review and is now suspended. We share this because the change is only one delegate per party (country) will be allowed into events. This is a profound change which may significantly affect outcomes. The Interfaith Centre for Sustainable Development held a press conference on 31 October in the Blue Zone. (The conference centre.) The topic was the Climate Casino. Extreme weather events were discussed; Flooding in Germany, Cyclones, Siberian wildfires, Extreme weather in the North America such as flooding in New York, Wildfires in California, and the Heat Domes in Canada. Soka Gakkai International: On the occasion of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in October 2021 in Glasgow, UK, the SGI (Soka Gakkai International) conducted a Press Conference in the Blue Zone and launched their statement on climate change.
